What has been your favorite memory on tour and why?

My Favorite memory on tour, oh man, you know I think that when we put out our album “Challenger” we didn’t know what was going to happen, we had just kind of broken through “The Hollow” and didn’t know if we were going to be able to continue as a band and pursue what we loved to do and when Challenger came out, that first week, our manager came out to a show we were playing in Dallas, and he just blasted through the doors and he told us what our first week sales were and we were so blown away. We were thinking that people would care this much about the art that we created, and we’re so thankful. That kind of signified what the future of our band was going to be, like we’re actually still doing it.

I never noticed how so many of your songs are about God, are you very religious?

Hey RJ what’s up dude? I actually don’t like the term religious. I think that religion can be disgusting, you know. I think that when you follow rules and regulations to try and achieve some sort of status or eternal life, I just don’t think that that’s the way that God intended it to be. I do have a relationship with God, and I’ve always been that way. I was raised in a church, my dad’s a pastor, but I just think that having a relationship with the creator of the universe, when you genuinely believe that you were hand crafted by the person who orchestrated the stars, that’s a beautiful thing and to have a relationship with God is something totally different than following rules and regulations. So I wouldn’t consider myself religious but I definitely do have a relationship with God.

“Broken” is one of my favorite albums, “The Old Me” is my favorite song on it, what was the writing process for that song like?

My dude John, thanks buddy! The writing process on this record was a little different than what we’ve done in the past. We actually did all the writing and recording in the studio in Vegas with Kane Churko, is the name of the producer, it was a learning experience for sure. It was uncomfortable at times because we’ve Kellen and I have never written with someone other than just the two of us, but we learned a lot and we grew a lot and I think that we came out with a cool record.

Lila from Twitter

What kind of music do you listen to? What’s the last song you listened to on your phone?

Hi Lila! The last song I listed to on my phone was the new Post Malone that dropped yesterday, Were all big Posty fans so we were stocked when that came out.
