How long have you guys known each other/ been a band?
Our drummer and lead singer attended the same elementary school. The rest of us met in middle school. We met our lead guitarist Griffin only a couple of years ago. We've all watched each other go through puberty.
How did you come up with your band name?
It is complete gibberish we do not know the answer to this question.
What's your favorite part about performing?
Our favorite part about performing is undoubtedly the people. Whether or not people are into our music is the least of our concerns, what matters is that everyone is present and enjoying each other's company. Being a part of a show or event that fosters that particular type of positive environment is always a pleasure.
What city are you guys looking forward to play in?
Nashville, East & West Coast, Ontario, London.
Who are some of your musical inspirations?
Arrows of Love, Goat Girl, IDLES, La Luz, Lingua Ignota, Marika Hackman, Parquet Courts, Sonic Youth, Shame, Warpaint, Ty Segall, Brian Eno.
What inspires you to write music?
Personal experience / outlook. Each other. Our friends. Music.
Any memorable shows so far?
Any show at the Sauna is typically a guaranteed gem. The Muncie house show scene is incredible right now. Indy has also been on the come-up these past couple years.
Where do you see MACCOGALLO within the next year?
laying lots of shows promoting our new record 'Hounds' due on November 11th. Writing and recording the second record. Hanging out. Hopefully a few tours. Creating more art. The deal. The stuff. Hopefully seeing you around.
