Interview & Photos: County Line Runner

Interview & Photos by Jamary Bobe

Is this your first time in New York?

Yes, well it's my first time playing here.

How's it going? Have you gotten the chance to explore a bit?

It's been good, even though I'be been so ill. I missed rehearsal yesterday, so I haven't had much time to go out and browse. Most of our rehearsals are in the evening so it takes up some time, we're English so we try to stay out of the pubs and what not.

Are there any places you would like to visit here?

In the US?

In the US, or anywhere you'd like!

Well America was always a big thing for me, I take a lot influences, like with my music taste and culturally I really like America. Anywhere in the world, I would like to go to Scotland, it loos like a great place. Everyone seems very enthusiastic over there, so I would like to really go. I love traveling so anywhere new.

You have a new self-titled EP, Can you tell us a little about it?

It's five songs, it's just kind of like my story you know! You just have to listen to it!

What's your writing process like?

It's very simple honestly. The only thing that's a little different about it is I write really intensely for very short periods of time, and then I really don't write for a bit. I'm not like the type that is very consistent in writing, its kind of just like a one time thing, everything sort of comes at once.

What's your biggest aspiration as an artist?

Honestly I just want people enjoying my music. It's so nice to just play in front of people and they genuinely are listening and having a great time. Playing, meeting new people, doing all of that just makes me feel so lucky. It's a great feeling when people connect with you and our music you know, it's special.

What advice can you give to others who are pursuing a career in music?

Just be true to yourself. There's nothing more important!

What's next for County Line Runner? Where do you see yourself maybe a year from now?

Hopefully back here, I really like it here!
