Looking for a killer all-girl band to listen to? Look no further, I present you, New Myths. The New York based trio is redefining the alternative-rock music scene. These powerful women, Brit Boras (guitar/lead vocals), Rosie Slater (drums/vocals), and Marina Ross (bass/vocals) are able to create riffs and melodies that will be lingering in your head all day long.

New Myths released their first EP and single “False Gold” back in 2012. A couple of years later they released their first full-length album, “Give Me Noise”. This album gives listeners a taste of their unique sound. It starts off with a bang; the raw and dance-able track titled, “Howl”. The following tracks flow right into one another, which provides for an enjoyable listen. New Myths decided to end the album with the title track, “Give Me Noise”. On the more mellow side, it cohesively wraps up the album’s concepts and ideas created in the previous songs and everything comes full circle. Even though this album is around five years old, it still seems current and different, which is very much impressive.

Aside from music, the power trio has killer style. If you scroll through the band’s Instagram, you will see how stylish and fresh these girls are. From bright and vibrant colors, to fun and playful patterns, they know exactly how to rock any outfit. The way each one of them present themselves is very inspiring, especially to young women. They are breaking down boundaries of how women are “expected” to dress and act. New Myths can serve as both life and fashion inspiration to many young girls out there.

More recently, the band has been performing live at various local shows. They have also posted on their Instagram, “We got some exciting news coming soon…..” Many fans, including myself, are looking forward to what this news may be!

You can stream New Myths album “Give Me Noise” on Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud.
